About the Artist: Bill Bolin was born in Mississippi, raised in Alabama and has made his home in Virginia since 1969. He is by vocation an ecologist, and avocation an outdoor enthusiast, both of which are clearly evident in his paintings and drawings. He has drawn and painted as long as he can remember even having some drawings and a story he did at age 4. He is a self-taught artist using techniques that probably "go against the grain" but are very eye appealing as evidenced by his popularity. He has won numerous "best in shows", has been featured in such publications as Southern Living and Virginia Wildlife, has been selected as "artist of the year" for a number of shows, designed labels for a microbrewery and is widely collected over most of the country.
